Jio extends Prime membership of existing users by 1 year for free, new users can pay Rs 99

Jio has announced that all the existing Jio Prime members will get additional one year of complimentary Prime membership. The announcement comes a day before the membership of these members was set to expire. The company said that Jio members will be able to get the complimentary free Prime membership for another year by logging into the MyJio and opting for complimentary Jio membership.

The Prime membership was offered to Jio users last year at a nominal fee of Rs 99 for one year. The price of the Prime membership for the new Jio users remains the same. They will still be able to get the Prime membership for one year by paying Rs 99. The Prime membership provides Jio members exclusive access to better data plans as well as a few other offers that the company may extend from time to time. One example of such an offer is the Nokia 1 phone available with effective cashback of Rs 2200 for Jio users. To get this offer, the Jio users must be a member of Jio Prime.

To avail the free 1 year Jio Prime complimentary membership, here is what you will have to do:

-- Be an existing member of Jio Prime. The offer is only available to those who are already enrolled in Jio Prime. These Jio Prime members must have the joining date on or before 31st March, 2018.

Step 2: Express your interest to get COMPLIMENTARY membership for next 12 months

Step 3: You will get the membership.

Jio said that this is a limited time offer. From April 1, Jio Prime will continue to be available at a price of 99 per annum.

"All Jio Prime members who have subscribed to the exclusive membership benefits till 31st March 2018 will get another year of complimentary Prime benefits at No additional fee... Jio deeply values its loyal Prime members and will continue to deliver additional benefits and superior value to these founding members," noted a Jio statement issued to media.

Jio on Friday also said that it now has over 175 million Prime subscribers.
