Six more youths arrested for playing PUBG game in Rajkot

With this, the number of cases related to the banned game has gone up to 13 and at least 16 persons have been arrested in the city. On Tuesday, six people were arrested for playing the banned game.

A day after the Rajkot police arrested 3 youths for playing PUBG game, six more people were arrested on Thursday for allegedly playing the popular multiplayer mobile game. Those arrested today are in the age group of 18-22 years. With this, the number of cases related to the banned game has gone up to 13 and at least 16 persons have been arrested in the city. On Tuesday, six people were arrested for playing the game banned by Rajkot police.

A team of Malaviyanagar police in the city detained six youths from a paan shop near Atithi Chowk while they were playing PUBG game late on Wednesday night. They were booked under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 35 of the Gujarat police act. “They were arrested after we filed a case against him in the early hours of Thursday. Later on, we released them on bail,” Malaviyanagar police inspector Naran Chudasama told The Indian Express.

“The accused are undergraduate students and their young friends who are doing private jobs,” the police inspector said, adding the special drive against those violating the notification banning the game would continue in the coming days also.

Rajkot city police commissioner Manoj Agarwal had issued a notification on March 6 banning the PUBG game and MOMO Challenge, stating the addictive mobile games were having an adverse impact on behaviour, attitude and language of students and children.

Incidentally, Rajkot Taluka police had arrested six persons on Tuesday for allegedly playing the PUBG game and thus violating the notification of the police commissioner. The same day, university police had arrested one person. On Wednesday, the Special Operation Group had arrested three persons. With the latest arrests on Thursday, the number has gone up to 16.

PUBG’s next big update has night mode and an ‘awesome’ patch

PUBG will release a new patch for PC test servers next week which will bring the long awaited ‘night mode’.

Night mode is finally coming to the new Vikendi map on PUBG. Gamers will now be able to play on Vikendi with a new night scene accompanied by the polar lights.

Teased by PUBG’s creative director on Twitter, a new ‘awesome’ patch will be rolling out to the PC test servers next week. The tweet features an image of Vikendi map at night with ‘aurora borealis’ popularly known as polar lights. The image already has many PUBG fans excited as night mode has been one of the most awaited features.

This look of night mode on Vikendi isn’t new and has already been shown in the gameplay trailer. PUBG launched Vikendi map first for PC on December 19. PUBG Mobile users received the snow map earlier this month. Vikendi is currently rolling out for consoles – PS4 and Xbox. The update for Vikendi map is expected to hit live servers for consoles by 6:30 pm IST.

Night mode on Vikendi map could be called “Moonlight Mode” according to a post on Reddit. There’s also talk about a new snow bike vehicle in Vikendi. Interestingly, the image shared also features a snow bike on the left corner. The post further adds that Moonlight Mode in Vikendi “significantly changes gameplay”. Other than this feature, there’s no information on what else is coming to PUBG with the new update.

Following the stable release on PC, the new additions for Vikendi will most likely arrive on PUBG Mobile soon. The mobile version of PUBG is also slated to receive a big update which will bring zombies to the game. PUBG Mobile x Resident Evil 2 crossover will launch later this month.

PUBG Mobile update 0.9.0 has a laundry list of changes including a night mode for the Erangel map, a new Spectator Mode, several Halloween-themed additions, a ‘movie’ picture style, improvements to weapons, vehicles, matchmaking, and performance, and new in-app purchases that include customisable outfits and a redesigned Royale Pass missions page. PUBG Mobile 0.9.0 update a tentative release date of October 25.

In a document that was posted to the game’s official Discord channel, PUBG Mobile developer Tencent Games said that the Erangel map will now “alternate between day and night randomly in Classic Mode”. Night Vision Goggles, new buildings, covers, and more trees are also coming to Erangel.

With the new Spectator Mode in PUBG Mobile, players will be able to watch opponents after they are killed. And with Halloween around the corner, Spawn Island has been given a themed makeover that includes pumpkins and candies, enemies killed by Hellfire-AKM will turn into scarecrows, and a spooky face will appear after a grenade goes off. The main menu will be updated with Halloween theme and background music as well.

Tencent Games is also adding a ‘movie’ picture style to PUBG Mobile settings, though it didn’t detail what that entails or looks like. Speaking of settings, players can now turn on a toggle that lets them quickly switch between scopes, adjust game brightness, or customise buttons for certain actions.

The new customisable outfits feature in in-app purchases will allow PUBG Mobile users to select colours and logos before purchasing, while the redesigned Royale Pass page makes it “more convenient to view the weekly missions and collect weekly mission rewards”.

Lastly, one of the performance improvements notes that it will resolve “lagging issues when players encounter other players from afar”, which some players believe might be a fix for the render lag that many complained with PUBG Mobile update 0.8.0.

Evo 2018 games announced – and Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite isn’t one of them .

Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite – we’re never going to get our Squirrel Girl DLC now…

The final nail has been hammered into Infinite’s coffin, as the game is ignored by the world’s biggest fighting game tournament. The 10 best HD video game remasters – from Okami HD to Beyond Good & Evil Despite popularising the genre all those years ago with Street Fighter II, and revitalising it in 2009 with Street Fighter IV, Capcom has not had much luck with its fighting games lately. Street Fighter V never recovered from its fumbled launch, even with the excellent new Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, while last year’s Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite has fared even worse. Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite is not a bad game, but it was rightly criticised for reusing too many characters and assets from 2011’s Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.

It also had an air of desperate cheapness about it, and reportedly had a budget less than that of one season of Street Fighter V DLC. The final problem was that the game didn’t feature any X-Men, or any other character Marvel Studios don’t own the film rights to, which wasn’t really Capcom’s fault but the planned buyout of Fox by Disney (which apparently might not now go through anyway) will come far too late to save the game. Especially given what’s just happened at Evo 2018, which is due to take place this August in Las Vegas. Despite Infinite being brand new, this will be the first time a Marvel Vs. Capcom has not been at the tournament – which is a pretty vicious slap in the face.

The game also doesn’t seem to be part of the Capcom Pro Tour this year, although that’s not been entirely confirmed yet. MORE: GAMING Games Inbox Hot Topic, part 3: Reader’s Top 20 of 2017 The line-up of eight games that will be at Evo 2018 are: Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Tekken 7 Injustice 2 Super Smash Bros. Melee Super Smash Bros. For Wii U Dragon Ball FighterZ BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 Even with the absence of Marvel Vs. Capcom there’s still plenty of controversy, over the fact that there’s two Super Smash Bros. games and three Arc System Works titles. The latter has been on fire lately, but as fans have pointed out BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle isn’t out until May (June in the West) so it’s hard to see how anyone’s going to get much practice at it.
