The battle for supremacy in the telecom sector is getting fiercer by the day. Telecom operators are offering data and voice calls benefits at lower tariffs by the day. Days after Reliance Jio and Airtelrevamped their plans, it's Vodafone's turn to revise its unlimited calling plan for pre-paid customers in a few regions.
The Rs 198 plan earlier offered unlimited local, STD and roaming calls and 100 SMS per day along with 1GB data per day for a period of 28 days. But after the revision, the plan now has a daily FUP limit of 1.4GB data per day with the same validity and calling benefits. This means, users get 11.2GB additional data for the same amount.

When GadgetsNow checked Vodafone's website, this revised offer is valid in Mumbai, Chennai, Gujarat, Haryana, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, UP (E) regions. Also, the same plan is available in Kerela region for Rs 199.
This new Vodafone plan directly competes with Airtel's Rs 199 and Reliance Jio's Rs 199 plan. The Airtel plan has a FUP limit of 1.4GB data while the Reliance Jio's Rs 149 offers 2GB data per day. All three packs have a validity of 28 days.

The fresh wave of revision of plans was triggered when Reliance Jio revamped its offers on the occasion of Republic Day. Under this, the company offered 50% more data on all its existing plans. All existing plans that offer 1GB data per day have been bumped up to offer 1.5GB data per day and the plans that were offering 1.5GB per day will now have per day limit of 2GB. This was followed by Airtel's move to update its Rs 199, Rs 448 and Rs 509 prepaid plans. The telco is now offering 1.4GB 4G data daily in all the three plans. Both companies offer unlimited calling on local as well as national numbers.
