Two big telecoms giants, Reliance Jio and Airtel once again locked the horns when they offered renewed data and calling plans ahead of the Republic Day. While the Reliance Jio Republic Day 2018 offer, which will go live on January 26, promises to give 50 percent more data to the customers, Airtel’s refreshed prepaid packs offer more data and validities. In order to make the customers choose the best recharge pack without paying extra money, we compare the data and calling benefits under the Jio Republic Day 2018 offer and Airtel’s new recharge packs.
Jio Rs 149 pack vs Airtel Rs 149 pack
With a recharge of Rs 149, Reliance Jio will provide users 1.5GB of data per day, however, the validity of this plan is 28 days. As of now, Reliance Jio offers 1GB data per day. With this recharge, all voice calls are free and unlimited. This recharge from Jio packs includes 100 SMS per day. However, when compared with Airtel’s Rs 149 plan, things get interesting. Airtel offers 1GB internet data per day with unlimited calls and SMS. This Airtel recharge pack has 28 days validity.
Jio Rs 198 pack vs Airtel Rs 199 pack
Under Rs 200, Reliance Jio is now offering 2GB data per day for Rs 198. With a validity of 28 days, this plan gives a total of 56GB data. This includes free voice calls and SMS and access to Jio apps for free. With Airtel, a recharge of Rs 199 will give you 1.4GB internet data per day, however with a daily caping of 1GB daily data limit. This pack has a validity of 28 days and which has unlimited local, STD and roaming calls and even has room for 100 SMS free per day.
Jio Rs 399 pack vs Airtel Rs 399 pack
Under Rs 400, things get very interesting as the validity of offers increases offering more data for the user. With Rs 399 recharge from Reliance Jio, you can get a total of 126GB data with the limit set to 1.5GB data per day. The validity of this pack is 84 days and includes unlimited free voice calls. Meanwhile, with 84 days of validity, Airtel has changed its Rs 399 plan. The pack offers free unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, along with free 100 SMS per day. At Rs 349, Airtel offers 2.5GB data per day with a validity of only 28 days.

With a recharge of Rs 448, Reliance Jio users will get a mammoth internet data of a total of 168GB data. The daily limit of this pack is 2GB. The validity is 84 days still and the plan includes free voice calls, 100 SMS per day as has become standard. Meanwhile, Airtel’s Rs 448 pack gives 1.4GB daily data. The recharge of Rs 448 will give unlimited local and STD calls, roaming incoming and outgoing calls and free 100 SMS per day. The validity of this plan is 82 days.
Jio Rs 498 pack vs Airtel Rs 509 pack
Jio updated its Rs 498 recharge offer, that means it will come with 2GB for 91 days. As of now, the daily cap is 1.5GB FUP per day. The plan has all the free benefits of voice call and SMS. In comparison, Airtel’s Rs 509 recharge pack which is just over Rs 500 has been changed. It now offers 1.4GB data per day for 90 days in total. In contrast, Airtel’s Rs 349 plan does offer 2.5GB data per day, but it has a validity of only 28 days.
