Airtel 4G Hotspot now at Rs 999: Here’s how it compares with Reliance JioFi, Vodafone 4G Mobile Wi-Fi
Airtel slashes price of its 4G Wi-Fi hotspot and 4G dongle.

Ever since Reliance Jio has entered the Indian telecom market, the incumbent operators are scrambling to match the tariff plans and give more data benefits to consumers. In the latest series of the prices slashes by Airtel and Reliance Jio, the former has slashed price of its 4G Wi-Fi hotspot by Rs 951, and is now selling the device for Rs 999.
Airtel has also slashed price of its 4G dongle by 50%, making it available at Rs 1,500. Note that the price of the dongle and Wi-Fi hotspot is exclusive of the data plans. Customers will need to get an Airtel 4G SIM to activate the services. The operator is offering a bunch of data plans with 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, starting at Rs 499 (with 5GB per month).
“Airtel 4G Hotspot delivers a superior multi-device online experience, wherever the customer may be, by leveraging Airtel’s pan-India high speed data network,” said Ajai Puri, Chief Operating Officer, Bharti Airtel said.
The device supports up to 10 connections. Airtel claims the battery lasts up to 6 hours.
Airtel’s 4G Wi-Fi hotspot competes with Reliance’s JioFi Wi-Fi hotspot device, which is priced at Rs 999.
Apart from the usual connectivity features, JioFi allows users to make free voice calls over LTE network through Jio4GVoice, a free application on Google Play Store. The application brings VoLTE-sorts capabilities on a phone that supports 4G LTE, but doesn’t have VoLTE. Reliance JioFi Wi-Fi hotspot can connect up to 10 devices, microSD storage, and has a larger 2,300mAh battery.
