Before We Begin…

  • First of all it’s important to know that you must backup everything using iTunes or iCloud as the downgrade process will erase everything off your device.
  • Make sure you iTunes is installed on your computer. You can download it from: apple.com/itunes
  • Also make sure you have your original or a MFi-certified Lightning cable with you in order to interface your iPhone, iPad or iPod with your computer.
  • Download the firmware file to which you wish to downgrade to from here: iOS 11.1.1iOS 11.1iOS 11.0.3iOS 11.0.2 or iOS 11.0.1.

Tutorial.

  • Connect your iPhone or iPad with your computer using a Lightning cable and launch iTunes.
  • Select your device from the top left hand corner of iTunes. It’s the little iPhone-like icon, in case you are wondering.
  • Now click on the Restore iPhone button while holding down the left Shift key (Windows) or the left Option key (Mac).
  • When a new pop-up window shows up, just select the IPSW file you wish to downgrade to.
  • iTunes will start extracting the firmware, restore your device, verify the installation with Apple and boot your device up. The entire process won’t take more than 15 minutes at best.
  • Once done, you can start using your device as you normally would.
