Best Christmas tech gifts 2017: Currys PC World reveal their top 10 tech gifts for this year - including Sonos, Xbox and Nespresso
It seems everyone wants something voice-controlled this year
Tech giant Currys has unveiled which top pieces of tech they expect to take pride of place under the Christmas tree this year, and as the nation's largest electrical retailer, they might know a thing or two...
This year, they've predicted that anything voice-controlled will be taking the (Christmas) cake for 2017’s most in-demand technology.
We've got their top ten below, although the complete Christmas list is 24 items long, and also includes the likes of Dyson hair dryers, FitBits and our favourite, Logitech's racing steering wheel.
However the latest and greatest tech certainly doesn't come cheap... but with Currys having confirmed they'll be doing Black Friday this year,we're hoping to pick up a decent discount (or two) on all of the below, before Christmas hits.
1. Sonos One ,£199
Your traditional Christmas carols (okay, Michael Buble's festive album) will sound better than ever with the new high-end speakers.
You could even connect it up to your brand new Amazon Alexa, as they work together.
2. Amazon Echo Dot , £49.99
The cheapest of the lot (or wait until the last weekend of November to try bag a bargain one on Black Friday instead), this tiny smart device lets you stream music around your home, using only your voice.
Or, buy a few, and hook them up in various rooms around your house.
3. R2-D2 App-Enabled Sphero Droid , £99.99
Use your smartphone or tablet to control your own droid, whose personality will develop as he interacts with your surroundings.
4. Google Mini , £49
Stay informed about everything that's going on in the world, as well as playing music and controlling the rest of your home.
In true smart home style, this Google Mini can be paired with your Chromecast to stream movies and TV.
5. Google Home , £119 (was £129)
With yet another voice-controlled speaker on the Santa wishlist this year, we wonder if Brits may spend more time talking to their new virtual assistants than they will with their relatives over the festive period.
